How To Wear Mixed Gold Colors

I often hear one question from my clients and friends,"What are the rules about mixing yellow, rose, and white gold?"The answer is mix them, it is the hot trend right now. The 1970's and 1980's triple color Cartier's ring is back with everywhere--the mix of three bands, yellow rose, and white gold--all intertwining.

You may have heard--don't mix gold colors--it is simply not true.

I love mixing rings with different metals and often wear a yellow gold necklace with a white gold tennis necklace for a sparkly layer of white and yellow. Personally, I lean towards mixing yellow and rose and adding a little white gold because it complements my warm and fair complexion. When I mix metals, I don't worry about balancing the quantities, just the overall look.

I move toward the traditional white gold three prong tennis necklace that I have had for years, and it's a beautiful piece and one of the first three prongs I made because it doesn't flip and I love it!  I like to layer it with yellow and rose gold to make it look more current and fun.

Take your pieces and lay them out by color, then try mixing different necklaces and bracelets to make a stack that feels good to you. Often times, I like to go strictly yellow gold or rose gold and add in just one small piece of white gold. This just brings a pop to your stacks with the white gold.

For example, on your wrist, you can stack some rose gold link chains, colored gemstone chains, and add in a white gold tennis bracelet for a fun summer combo.

Be creative, mix match, and make a mix that fits your personality. Don't feel restricted by gold color--they all look great together!
